Ullr Intelligence Ltd is a solo, UK-based desk-based private investigation and intelligence business. We combine modern open-source research with the discretion, rigour and ethics expected of a professional investigator.
Ullr Intelligence is led by its founder and director, David Nelson, who spent more than ten years as a surveillance specialist in the British Army, serving as a senior operator.
That career was built on disciplined, methodical intelligence work carried out to exacting professional standards. The Army demands continuous professional development, and the core skills of a senior surveillance operator transfer directly into private intelligence work: patient and meticulous observation, accurate and impartial reporting, sound judgement under pressure, and absolute discretion. Just as importantly, it instils the habit of operating strictly within defined legal and ethical limits — the same principle that governs every engagement at Ullr.
Today that experience is applied to lawful, desk-based open-source intelligence: drawing information from the right sources, corroborating it carefully, and setting it out in clear, honest reports you can act on with confidence.

Our practices align with the principles of the ICO-approved Association of British Investigators (ABI) UK GDPR Code of Conduct for Investigative & Litigation Support Services, and the codes of recognised professional bodies. All work is carried out in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and current ICO guidance.
We act with honesty and fairness, and never knowingly make false or misleading statements.
Client instructions, personal data and findings are disclosed only where legally required or properly authorised.
We process personal data only with a lawful basis, fairly, transparently and proportionately.
We accept only instructions we are competent to deliver, and carry them out with diligence.
We use advanced tools, including AI, to help analyse and structure open-source intelligence efficiently. This is always balanced against strict data-protection safeguards.
We apply rigorous data minimisation, carry out legitimate-interests and transfer-risk assessments where required, and maintain appropriate contractual safeguards for any international data transfers. We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
